You might be the chosen one… but not accepted!

In the journey of guiding others towards excellence, one may find themselves facing rejection and resistance, not because of their abilities or intentions, but simply because of who they are. It is a common experience to be overlooked and dismissed by those we seek to lead, while they may blindly follow individuals who have been crowned with worldly prestige and honor. However, the true significance of leadership and guidance goes beyond external validation and recognition.

The passage from Matthew 10:14, where Jesus instructs his disciples to shake off the dust from their feet if they are not received or heard, holds a profound lesson in resilience and self-worth. It serves as a reminder that not everyone will appreciate the wisdom and guidance we offer, and that is okay. The rejection we face does not diminish our value or the importance of our message. Instead, it signifies the free will and individual choices of those we seek to guide.

Matthew 10:14

14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

In the pursuit of excellence, it is essential to understand that not everyone will be receptive to our guidance, no matter how well-intentioned or well-informed we may be. Our worth as leaders is not contingent upon the approval of others, but rather on our ability to stay true to our purpose and continue moving forward in our mission. Just as Jesus advised his disciples to shake off the dust and move on, we too must learn to let go of the need for external validation and focus on our own growth and development.

Moreover, the contrast between being rejected for being oneself and being blindly followed based on superficial accolades highlights the importance of authenticity and genuine leadership. True greatness is not conferred by man-made titles or positions, but by the sincerity and integrity of one's actions and intentions. Those who are led astray by false promises of prestige and recognition may eventually come to question the true worth of their chosen path, while those who stay true to themselves and their calling will ultimately shine as beacons of light and inspiration.

Hebrews 10:35-36

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise

Remember the journey of guiding others towards excellence is not always easy or straightforward. Rejection and resistance may be inevitable, but they do not define our worth as leaders. By staying true to ourselves, shaking off the dust of negativity and doubt, and continuing to strive for excellence, we can fulfill our purpose and inspire others to do the same. As Jesus reminded his disciples, the chosen ones will always be recognized in the end, regardless of the challenges and obstacles they face along the way.
